Hi,

If your a member of Elecsa/NICEIC and have not been assessed for doing PIRs can you still do them as a competant person but not on their headed paper/certs?

Thanks

Yes you can Matty. Any competent person can issue any certificate for work they do. It is only when using a scheme providers logo headed certificate that you need to ensure you comply with that particular schemes terms and conditions as well.

Doc H.

+1

I'm a NICEIC DI and do PIRs, but not with their logo on the cert!

i hate the big scam of this, I put my company name and elecsa logo on the top of my PIRs and never had the extra assessment, if they don't like it i'll move on to one of the other 7 or so companies. Its a buyers market.

Why not go for full approval with NIC and you will be able to use all their Logo certs including PIR.

I don't think it costs any more (I pay

Exactly as I do - just ensure that you are extremely comfortable doing a PIR and ensure your insurance is bang up to date and suitable for you.
so i could sign up with elecsa part p and do PIRs without having to pay the extra 250(ish) as long i use my own certs (take there logo off my certs). and id also have publibic lib and professional indemnity insurance

I have spoken to Elecsa about this recentley and they told me as long as you are not doing PIR's every day and it is a majority of your work then they are fine about you doing them and using logo.

you can do PIRs all day, every day if you wanted. you still dont have to pay them more to be able to. but your best not using their logo
