stuck between a firm pair of t***
hello chaps,

i'm doing a second fix for a spark who has gone off on holiday for a month and landlady wants the tennant in.

anyway....he has wired the hall/landing light in a diferant way to me, he has twin x 2 going to rose (feed in/out) and a 3c&e? this goes to a switch with 2x 3c the other goes upstairs, the landing switch has twin (to pendant) and 3c...

please help:D

I'll try to describe it , Paul , not good at posting drawings, it should give you the idea.

3core from hall lt to switch is a live, a neutral and a switch wire back to the hall Lt.

The other 3 core in the switch is a pair of strappers and a neutral to the landing switch.

The 2 core from landing switch to light is a switch wire and a neutral.

Neutrals go in connectors in the switch boxes.

Oh and loop a jumper feed between your 2 gang switches ,

Jobs a good 'un.

( If it blows up my name is Specs)

Now he tells me:O Where is this switch situated ? If the 3core passes through it on its way upstairs then my guess is its an intermediate, if so , put connector on the neutral again and connect your strappers in and out of it.

Make sure you buy an intermediate switch for it.

i was worried you were going to say that, its a 4 gang switch and this is the only one thats needs it.

thinking about it though, i think the other switch may only work the downstairs light.

i think the 1st sloution was correct

thanks again
