Portable Appliance testing

Hi,

With reference to an Indesit washing machine that failed it's PAT test, can anyone say how these machines should be tested?

This machine has a plug, cable and suppressor unit supplied as one unit and I just wonder if it should be tested using a standard type tester. Although I was not able to megger it, I obtained low readings on it's original cable. Welcome any comments please.

I got a feeling what you call a standard tester is an Idjuts Plug & Play Pass Fail P.A.Tester?

Or do you mean a multifunction Continuity/Ins Res/Earth loop etc.. tester?

Or separate units?

What actual readings are you getting?

Do you actual have values displayed on your tester?
