PV installer standards slipping?

Thought I would post this pic of PV install 2 weeks ago by others. This is the feed back meter.

I have seen any quite so blatantly bad, but there are some nasties out there.

Obviously the installer does not know you can get an extended cover for most meters to house the connections.

Its becoming more the norm - as the price of kit drops, the companies behind the installs try to maximise their profit margins; so they cut down on the quality of the workers - so this carp is becoming more & more commonplace, unfortunately......

at least he has a trade,

not like most of the numpties doing it, and the 5WW that think they have are by far the worst,

standing trying to argue the it out cos they have a bit of paper! : headbang

Well the pic in the OP is just fraudulent, and fraud is a criminal offence...

Send photo to REAL / MCS board along with address. Installer can then be traced and (hopefully) sanctions administered.

We always use 6mm tails (Proper tails - double insulated) from AC iso to meter into CU, looks neat, tidy and safe. Use SY for run from AC at inverter to AC at CU all glanded.

Adds only a few pounds too install- we are still making good profit, six installs waiting to complete even with FIT reduction, all recieved because of +ve feedback.

Don't cut corners for the sake of a few bob and a few minutes!

It is fraudulent for the following reasons.

The installer has certified it compliant with building regs, BS7671, & MCS requirements, it does not comply, thus the installer has lied on their paperwork, thus, they have obtained money by deception, i.e. fraud.

The home owner is fraudulently claiming FITS no doubt for a non compliant installation, again fraud, even though inadvertent perhaps.

Nevertheless money has been and is being obtained by deception, is that not fraud?

No meter extended cover and no meter seal

I reckon hanging is to good for that installer

Do they not have to mount meters on a proper meter board? Or is that DNO crap?
