PVC conduit in escape routes

I don't think you will find that in BS7671, it's a term from fire alarm standards. The NICEIC changed the AC status a few years ago not to include fire protection systems, in reflection of the fact few sparkies knew the appropriate standards well enough. I was rather annoyed by that at the time, but now think they may have had a point

I am curious where @Sidewinder got this term formal protected route from as I work in fire safety and maybe it has skipped my eyes.

So I could use PVC conduit https://www.cef.co.uk/catalogue/products/29959-20mm-pvc-round-conduit-heavy-gauge-black-3m-length

as it meets BS EN 61386. I'd use metal fixings to secure to the wall/ceiling.

As long as the wiring it contains, MUST, be in the protected escape route, i.e. directly serving that area, else it must be run via an alternative route.
