im an apprentice trained NCQ level 3 electrician, ive got my 17th edition, 2391 and im currently working on my 2396-401 (used to be 2400/2391-20) project. Ive been doing some research and what would be the next logical step to becomming a designer?

im training up with my current firm using CAD programs, Amtec design software, and will be doing a micro station course soon.

i keep searching tinterweb machine and all that comes up is "become and electician in six weeks"

if someone could just point me in the right direction/website would be very greatful

cheers!

is the only way to do a HNC/HND at uni ? or can you do it at night school because im in full time employment and i couldn't really afford to cut my hours?

You don't normally do a HNC/HND @ Uni, normally local college.

Back in the day I did mine evenings and a few hours one afternoon.

I had a good employer and we had LOADS of overtime so I could just work the hours back.

My degrees I did at Uni.

There are colleges & Uni's offering distance learning courses now.

Depends on how confident you feel, however, the step from C&G to HNC/D then Bachelors degree is much easier than C&G to Degree!

I have done HNC and HND at day release at local college, one day a week many years ago.  Since then I have done another HNC and HND (different subject :) ) purely at evening class at the same college.

sounds good to me thanks!  for all the replies ill have see if theres an open day at the collages/uni near me in the future

cheers !
