Power factor correction equipment for an unmetered supply.
Ah, well ,erm, I don't know anything about doing that Patch, but reckon it would still go via some sort of interface. Anyway its not the answer. How about someone generating power and selling it back to the grid, via a wind turbine/solar pannel?
Whats the prize.Should I give another clue or have we reached the boredom threshold now ??
Like the four minute warning sirens?Or for the army in wartime/ strikes?
Sprinklers? No good if the fuse tripsAh . yes .. the prize.. well its a day out with Steptoe on his cart with Hercules. I knew youd be impressed ! Or I could send some of my wife's home made mince pies to the winner, if there is one , before midnight.Chittybangbang , you're in the area.
Solar PV systems connect back via a fuse/MCB in the CU!How about someone generating power and selling it back to the grid, via a wind turbine/solar pannel?
Guiness DrinkWell M107 I think your millitary background has got it! I used to do a lot of work at police stations and there was Home office permission for the MOD to connect the 4 minute warning siren ,on the roof , direct to the incomming supply, by -passing all our new dist . panels etc.I pronounce the winner M107. Well you'd want to know if one of those guys was out and about !!Guiness DrinkHave to admit I didn't know about the home office permission on bypassing cu's.
Like I say the two that I've seen were via their own cu (now dissconnected from supply), & consist of a large ammount of GPO kit (also dissconnected) connected to the old air driven warning sounder up on a tall mast.
Both are or were on retained/part time firestations out in the sticks, one near Aldermaston the other at a village called cookham.
As a bit of useless info for you the air raid siren is still sounded every Monday morning in Bracknell/Crowthorne, because it's used as a warning in the event of an escapee from Broadmoor.
