Could go 63amp or 80 amp and cover all board since the cost is not much more??

For a housing association, All bonding in place 10mm to water and 10mm to gas ( i was surprised ), another question. If i replace the faceplate to the cooker, but don't move it does this need RCD Protection???
No - it's a like for like change. anyone can do it

What if I wanted all my sockets in chrome? It's perfectly legal for me to do so.

Even (AFAIK) in a SL

So yes they are being Awkward so and so's....
Sounds like you've got a Hobsons choice. If its your name on the cert, then its you who could go to jail which leaves 3 options, walk, chance an illegal installation, or absorb the cost of the RCD yourself. Don't suppose there's any other way of clawing back a few pounds by using cheaper gear / bulk purchase materials? Cable has dropped in price so maybe some money there? Other than that I think you're just going to have to stand your ground and insist the job is to standard.

You will get a discount and a further for bulk buying with TLC - They are, in all fairness, a good company - At least, they are down here. :D

But Go in, In person - don't order online or you won't get the discount.

Also - the only bad side down here is that a lot of the stock has to be ordered from another branch, miles away, who are not the most helpful/brainiest of branch staff either. :_|

Forgive me if ive missed something, but the new regs are not retrospective, so if you are adding to existing circuits you cant force client to have rcd protection added to the circuit.Maybee just add disclaimer to cert.

if you add to an existing, what you add has to be to new regs. so if you add a new socket its gotta be RCD'd. either by RCD spur, RCD at DB, or RCD socket if cable doesnt need it
