i like lenovo. got an x230t (x61s was recently demoted to spare). well built and takes a fair bit of abuse

Its my mate wants to get his kids one for Xmas, 15 and 13 yo.

I can't see him spending over £300, tbh.

What do kids do on laptops,?

Homework I suppose, that and faceache, YouTube and whatnot I would think,,,, 

I can't see them doing any 3D CAD or high end video editing,

We got our daughter an Asus i5 last year... approx £400,,, hopefully it'll last her until she's finished her A levels (2018) at which time I can see her wanting a Mac Book

AFAIAA she uses it for homework (so MS OFFICE as it's what they use in school), obviously the usual Internetty type things and Netflix
