I have looked into it and it seems that i will have to go to college again to pass their version of exams.

post ive read are saying they are easier than ours here in uk tho.

and apparently ill have to work as a electrical assistant for the meantime

most firms will apparently pay you close to full rate aftre a couple of months if its obvious that you know what ur doin

family member will help with your permit but to work in Aus/NZ you need a practicing licence and registration. I went to NZ and with 4 year apprenticeship and BTEC quals I needed to do a stage 3 practical course and then do a regs course and exam before being registered and then applying for practising licence. The only way to work as a spark is to be regd, the only way to get regd is to work as a sparks mate while you get training...... thats how it was 15 years ago dunno if its changed any since.

HTH

still the same James,

as you know Im in the middle of trying to get this all sorted now.

Paul, you say family member, is it a direct relation? have you checked they are able to sponsor you?

should be good,

that will get your wife in and you should be able to go on your wifes visa then.

what part of Oz you looking at? different parts have different criteria.
