kme if talktalk are giving you trouble go to plus net pm me for my user name as a recommendation as they have been faultless from start to finish. had a bit of connection problems as they didnt activate the connection till i phoned but they gave me a free months internet for not having net for 3 days so ended up having to use my mates pubs net instead which is a pita but all sorted and nowt issues wise since swapping from orange on the net and talktalk on the phone.

I had this with Talktalk e.g line resetting every 10-15mins at odd times, 1st line support soon realised I knew what I was talking about :yellow card , 2nd line denied that they had a log of the drop outs :red card , 3rd line (yes they have one) confirmed that they could see from the log the loss of service and agreed to get the hardware at the Exchange swapped out by BT, and low and behold problem stopped :Applaud (well for about 3-4 months).

In the end had enough, so due to the very slim chance I might get access to Infinity* I've gone back to BT and had no problems since

* no Virgin cable in my road, so it's only ever going get faster if they roll out Infinity :pray

i use plusnet there good no probs with them, although the router kept dropping out while it was next to all the tv stuff (tv/dvr/dvd/xbox/wii) just moved it about a meter or two away and was fine and has been since

argh well if you peeps do use wireless connections unlike myself having a full networked wired system round te house :innocent :run

thats another reason i chose to use my own netgear router instead of the router they would have supplied as i know netgear is a market leader :D

I`m wired AND wireless - the office is fully networked, as 2 of the printers are on the network, too.

I usually have the lappy on wireless, but I DO have a wired access point for it.

I`ve got 2 spares, thanks guys - but I was impressed that the BT one has let me on the net with its own settings - I don`t know who is paying for my access, and don`t really care, TBH.

I`d love to get out of talk2, but we`re tied in on a contract for another 15 months - else I`d have jumped to either Sky or Plusnet.

Thanks for the offers & info guys.

:x

I think Talk Talk can have issues spent a couple of hours at a customer with them that could not get the internet but after a phone call they must have done something because it started working.

yer but im tight

Im with talk tat and have a netgear router as supplied by them.

BTW, no issues,

the odd time it drops and I simply either re-boot from the PC or flick the switch on and off and its fine again.

With Sky. Netgear router supplied by them FOC. Never a day without internet. Never had connection problems. Fast enough for wireless.

Happy customer.

I have a spare router in the shed, but if the Netgear one breaks the Trend T5 makes a lot more noise - would have to turn the TV up.......................

:D

I cant hear mine,

Im upstairs, router is downstairs, in cupboard beside the boiler, the boiler makes more noise,

then she'll prob go to bed and start snoring, so I still cant hear if the router is noisy or not. :)
