It's all getting a bit much and what's left of my brain has given up the ghost...
I'm trying to work out the voltage drop for a submain that I'm going to be putting in.....
3phase / 32A per phase MCB at origin / 80m long
now as these are supplying DB's which will in turn supply a mixture of circuits inc. lighting circuits (all circuits single phase) I am allowed 3% VD over the total length of submain and circuit...
with 16mm 4c XPLE giving me a VD of 6.14v
and 25mm giving me 3.84v
What do I use to get my permissible volt drop???
3% of 230v = 6.9v
OR
3% of 410v = 12.3v
What my brain is telling me is 230v, but could someone please clarify this for me....
Cheers
