Looking to get an EV charger installed and want to check my plan of how this is connected makes sense.
I won't be attempting to do this work myself but would like to plan it so I get the desired outcome.
My house has PME.
I want to have a second CU (ip rated) within an ip rated plastic enclosure on the outside of the house.
To supply that I would look to split the meter tails after the isolator using henley blocks. The new submain for the EV charger would look like this.
SP Henleys>25mm tails>80a Switch Fuse>16mm 2 core SWA>2nd CU 100a Main Switch>40a RCBO
Regarding the earth I assume it would be okay to also split this using a henley block to take to through the switch fuse and then use the SWA to take the earth out to the second CU?
If so as the current earth goes straight from the supply to the existing consumer unit I would need the DNO to split this before the electricians come to do the work?
