Hi im thinking of joining a competent person scheme but I still have some gaps in my knowledge I have a part p full scope.

I was wondering if any body could explain how to carry out a insulation resistance test on a selv circ with a fluke 1652.

Remove lamps

Remove circuit tails from cu

Set meter to 250v

Test as normal

cheers for that I just had it in my head that the transformer may have been equipment prone to damage but now ive thought about it,its fed by 230v.

so in the case of a bathroom fan u would just isolate the fan and carry out the test as per but set at 250v because its selv, if its fed of another circ u would test from the tails out of the fcu?
