-2.5 years ago i prepared a new shop intstallation ready for a new 3 phase supply.

-2.5 years later they send the first electric bill.

-£10,000 bill, only the last 12 months can be charged for so bill reduced to £3600

The customer payed straight away and they confirmed that he was up to date with his account.

The best bit,

-Estimated meter reading was 58,000. (even though its a SMART meter)

-Actual reading is 38,000

He is now payed up for the next year.

His Smart meter realy has reduced his electricity bill.

You are of course correct Dave, the SMART meter has not actualy saved my customer or anyone else any money at all, nor is there much too smart about a SMART meter. Except tricking the public into thinking it can save them any money.

My same customer had one installed at his last premises, which resulted in over estimated bills and countless confusion which was resolved in the end by the supplier replacing it with a normal meter. Meter monkey said what a load of problematic rubbish they are and that he has had to remove quite a few due to them not working correctly.

I think the SMART bit is the people who decided a fortune had to be spent of these stupid things at our cost and no doubt they probably had an interest in there production and the profit made in selling them.
