Smoke Alarms in 4 storey private dweling

Is it mandatory to install smoke detectors in every room for a 4 storey private dwelling (except bathrooms) or just in the hallways.

If the floor areas are under 200m2

Existing dwelling grade D LD2

New or materially altered grade B LD2

Over 200m2 grade A LD2

I am working with an experienced electrician to get some more practical experience and unfortunately he got run over after work and airlifted to hospital, broken 2 ankles and shoulder, he wants me to finish of the work under his supervision whilst he is in wheelchair. Hope he gets better soon.

Beckenham. Itwas a residential care home 4 storeys with additional cellar areas, renovating back to single dwelling. Should be good experience.
