go for hardware raid more expensive but beter than software raid i might get a 4 way raid card and disable the raid part so it is just a 4 way adaptor , im gonna use WHS (windows home server) that dont use raid, instead it makes one big logical disk made up of odd sized drives:^O

it is hardware RAID. there is a PCI card which can take upto 4 drives. i have a spare identical RAID card somewhere. going to put that in once i find it
