shed69,

LIM is NOT a valid entry on an EIC.

You can "limit" out certain aspects of existing work, but that must be in the manner I explained earlier.

In the "Extent..." section.

Your EIC does NOT cover the bathroom socket if you are changing the DB.

Your EIC covers the DB and you must fill it in with ticks or NA.

You cannot issue it with X's or LIM as you cannot then justify your work complies with 7671.

You are not "CERTIFYING" the rest of the install.

You can "LIM" this out as I say in the "Extents" and the "Comments on..." sections.

You are justified in making these verbose and explaining that the socket exists etc. and that your client demands that it remains etc. etc.

However you cannot put a LIM on the cert for YOUR work.

p.s. I was going to go to the van to back up my comments by betting the BGB, but the heavens have opened here and there is NO way I am getting soaked sorry.

I'm sure there is someone else with a BGB to hand who can check the requirements for completing an EIC.

Mind, if you were a student of mine I'd fail you for putting a LIM on an EIC.

If I were an expert witness against you I'd hang you out to dry for it if I could.

;)

not in this rain you wouldn't........ :shakehead

On a serious note , I would like you to point it out to me though.... I can see your NIC AC as I am and I've had this conversation with both assessor and tech line and both times in agreement with me so I am open to more info... I, at the moment am in total disagreement with you but will take on board what you can offer in terms of advice to make me see it a different way.....

Maybe even meet up over a beer seen as your my neck of the woods...... 😜

shed,

You cannot put a LIM on YOUR work.

You have to certify it as acceptable under BS7671, that is what the EIC does.

How else can you legitimately complete an EIC?

BTW, I'm gonna be off to bed soon, so if I go quiet, I'm probably not ignoring you.

I tend to tell my NICEIC AE how I'm going to do things, as I have higher qualifications than he does!

Thinking out loud then.... Why bother testing anything whatsoever if your only covering the CU that you change.........

I know your not the ignoring type mate.... Sweet dreams!!!!!!!!!! 💤💤💤💤💤
