swa as cpc

I think the question was how do you work out the cross section size of the armour of a certain size SWA.? ?:| up to 16mm you dont need to worry, the voltage drop will stop before your earth does.

HTH as a very simplified answer.

Does anyone know where we can look up the copper equivalent sizes for the armour of various sizes of swa?

I think i answered it correctly? My last post tells you how to find the equivalent of copper csa for swa.

up to 16mm you dont need to worry, the voltage drop will stop before your earth does,

Well i know what your getting at, but the csa need to meet the requirments of bs 7671,

now the csa of some swa upto 16mm doesn't comply and the same applys to some swa above 16mm.

Regards chris
it was a simplified answer, as I pointed out.

its questions like these I feel shouldnt even be being asked,

if someone is installing SWA and they deem themselves competent enough to do so, then they should know how to work out the CSA of the armour,

otherwise they are NOT competent enough to be installing it.

PDQ.
