What is it that WE know nothing of  I ask ?
What I meant was....does our history, trials & tribulations merely exist upon a grain of sand that is part of some great scheme beyond our understanding ?

Or as Kerch says .....the male half of the population of the Earth lives it's life without concerning itself  with cushion plumping  , forming gathers in curtains  and matching one colour with another.

Women.

Lived without them, didn't understand them

Lived with them, didn't understand them

looks as though I'll soon be living without them again, don't want to understand them

everything else in life has a logic

What I meant was....does our history, trials & tribulations merely exist upon a grain of sand that is part of some great scheme beyond our understanding ?

Yes, we are here for the mere shortest of time in the grand scheme of things, why do we think that we are that important?

That reminds me of the line from hitch hikers guide to the galaxy, "the people of earth spent most of their time worrying about the movements of small pieces of paper (money), which was rather strange as these small pieces of paper didn't seem to worry where they went"

I suppose we humans are a strange breed, take animals they have only 3 needs which they worry about, 1, the need to find food, 2, the need to find a mate, thereby ensuring the breed continues, 3, the need for shelter.

Humans tend to put important things to the bottom of their list of priorities, owning a new home, new car, or latest tv often comes before things that really matter. How often have we lost a loved one then sat back and thought, " I wish I'd spent more time with them" or "I never told them" such and such. A few years ago I had an illness and was convinced I was going to die, it changed my whole outlook on life, suddenly I was confronted with loads of things I hadn't done, lots I hadn't said to people who mattered. I know it sounds daft but listen to the song "if tomorrow never comes" , and I do mean listen, it makes you realise the things in life that are important..

The way forward, I'm gonna get two dogs, they will listen to me, do what i ask of them and love me back, no questions asked, they will also be a lot lot cheaper.......
Unless you get a German Shepherd, the wife upset one of mine, she came home from work to discover it had taken it's revenge. Result her new dining table ended up with only 3 legs. Never upset a shepherd, sooner or later they'll give you payback. lol
