Hi all,

Any help appreciated, I have a large outbuilding 15M end to end 5-10M from the house. It is currently powered by one double electrical socket direct from its own 16a RCD on the consumer unit.

I'd like to add one or two Additional sockets by spurring off the existing socket.

Current layout: RCD - Switch(can't tell if it's fused- doesn't appear to be) - socket.
My thoughts were: RCD - Switch - Socket - FCU - Socket

Would this work?

Would it be safe to add two additional sockets if I install an FCU in-between them?

Thanks,

Why do you think a FCU is required?

if its a dedicated radial circuit then you can add to this .................
Hi Murdock,

Thanks for the reply, protection, but guessing it's unnecessary?

With it being a dedicated radial circuit, how many times can I safely spur off the existing socket? Ideally i want two additional double sockets to the existing double.

Cheers.

Add to it as many times as you like using suitably sized cables. To fully comply the RCD should be Type A and I assume it is 30ma.
