connecting cookers, ovens, hobs with rated power exceeding 2kw should have their own dedicated cct

unless otherwise stated by manufacturers instructions

I can not remember the rule or the wording, but in the back of my mind I seem to remember that two cookers can be isolated from one supply providing each is within 2.5m of the isolator, now I know its going to be a 40amp + supply, but I am sure the principle is the same, providing there is no overload on the spur units supply cable.

The load current in any part of the circuit should be unlikely to exceed for long periods the current-carrying capacity of the cable

This can be generally achieved by

1=locating socket-outlets to provide reasonable sharing of the load around the ring

2=not supplying immersion heaters, comprehensive electric space heaters or loads of a similar profile from the ring circuit

3=connecting cookers, ovens, hobs with a rated power exceeding 2KW on their own circuit

4=taking account of the total floor area being served. ( as a rule of thumb , a limit of 100m2has been adopted )

Why do you think all appliances sold now that plug in are generally 2kw or below? or is it just me on this one?
My 110V tranny (no not Sandra) is 3.3kW and that has a plug.

what about washing machines and dishwashers, they all tend to be energy efficient with only cold water supply's and have internal heaters hence they are over 2kW.
