Hi all,

Well, it USED to feed existing sockets until i took it out from the old part of the installation!! Does that count!!

What i think i will do though, is to use adaptable boxes next to every socket. To link up the ends of the 10mm at every box and also to provide a terminal to connect the 10mm to the 2.5 for the socket, i think i will use pairs of din rail connectors linked with the jumper things. I do not like stuffing more than one cable into a terminal you see, cannot see how you can get a good termination. At least when in the future when someone takes the lid off it will look neat, and easy to follow too, wrong colours or not!!

Hi Androidlee,

They had two separate supplies in use at the same time until i sorted the place out a bit.

One of the supplies was clearly labeled with the name of a different firm [it used to be several units in one building] and actually disappeared out though a wall, only to re-enter the original building again about 40 yards away and feed a DB. Just as well i always check dead properly!!!!

john.

Well I would use the old colours, just sleeve or number tag to current harmonised code at every joint/termination & add appropriate label for harmonised colours at each adaptable box & db.

As for the jointing I would go with the adaptable box & din rail connectors utilising the link screws for busbar set up in the box.

I was just thinking the same slips.................take 10mm to scrappy & weigh in, use the money to purchase 2.5mm swa & all glands/cleats.

adaptable boxes and din connects going to be a pretty penny so worth a tot up for sure.

need weight of 1m of 4x10 x length to get an idea
