I have been doing some cable calculations and i have 6 circuits that need calculating.

I have done them and applied diversity to the cooker and fluorescents.

I now need to calculate the size of the supply cable etc but I am not sure on how to do this.

Can anyone help? I think that i need to add all the Ib's of the circuits up and then add diversity to the light circuits and ring finals then choose a BS88 fuse that is big enough to carry the current. Then will i do volt drop after that?

Thanks in advance! :x

What results do you get for both the cooker and the lights after applying diversity kiwi? what is the length of cable run, correction factors etc.Andy
Thanks Andy hope you can help.

I have:

1 Cooker Ib after diversity =22a

2 Ring Final Circuits Ib = 42.8a

1 Circuit with 2 x 1kW floodlights (not applying diversity to these) = 8.69a

2 6a Lighting circuits Ib after diversity = 7.92a

1 Circuit with 12 x 85w Fluorescents Ib after diversity = 5.26a

1 2.8kW Immersion Heater Ib= 12.17a

The questions states: The main building has a 3 phase supply and the DB uses BS88 fuses and is located in a boiler room which has an ambient temp of 40c. The PVC/SWA cable will be buried for 20m of its 62m Run.

Not sure where to go next :yawn

Thanks!
