Brown - PhaseBlack - Sleeved Blue - Neutral

Grey - Sleeved Green/Yellow - Earth

:D
this really will be my 1st and last post in this topic.

red = L1

yellow = L2

blue = L3

brown = L1

black = L2

grey = L3

so why oh why are people insisting on sleeving a new L2 to make it an old L3.?

if you are jointing an old RYB to a new BrBlGr are you going to cross joint the cables,?

ie,

L1 + L1

L2 + L3

L3 + L2

there is no logic in that at all!

SOMEBODY MOVED MY POST !!!!! :_| :_| :_|

It would be a lot easier if cable manufacturers where to use the correct colours in the cable if it where to be used on single phase. I did a job about five years ago, the cable supplied had brown, blue and green/yellow cores. The amount of cable these manufacturers make it should not be a problem.

Not sure I get you?

Brown, blue and green/yellow have been standard flex colours for years now... ?:|

It was changed from red/black/green due to colour blindness issues.

What i was saying was if the armoured cable supplied was coloured the same as flex there would be no argument about what colour to use.

Ah.... but armoured uses the steel armour as earth (when the conductors are below 120mm2) hence no yellow/green!

I have only been supplied with the armoured cable with flex colours once but it would make life a lot easier if using it on single phase.

Well you learn something new every day! First time i've seen SWA with a earth core!

Cheers Batty. :D
