Is the use of SY cable allowed on construction sites

4 off 3P 10kva site transformers which may get moved around from time to time

(all located inside) fed from MDA using SY Cable because more flexible than SWA

Will be using internal CPC but not sure steel braid is suitable to meet regs, even if grounded. Cables will be trailing on floor at some point but these can be protected with mats

welcome any thoughts

SY is designed for connecting fixed machinery. but it does do well as a flex, and does have the added benefit of an earthed metallic cover, unlike other flex's. H07RNF is often used for 3 phase stuff and is more flexible

used alot for temporary's offers good mechanical protection.

i'd say it out performs an armoured for that purpose
