For many years now the local Round Table posted fliers to say when Santa would be coming down the road and his Elves and Snowmen would be collecting for a couple of local charities. Santa's sleigh was towed by a Land Rover , (because the reindeer are resting) , carols playing ,in the dark, all the young children would be out to wave at Santa ,who always came over to ask if they had been good .
It was a piece of magic and the kid's faces were a picture.
Last year it seemed to have been highjacked , no Round Table but three seperate lots of Santas , two on the same night, all a bit tacky , no Elves, no Snowmen , just blokes in Hi viz tabards , totally spoilt , definite feeling of being ripped off!!!
