Steps you are funny! :slap

I wasn't really thinking about the logistics of it all... more about getting a good price, they are better than what I have seen in wholesalers & its quite a big kit but it is still £36 + delivery for some bits of plastic & metal.

Duck, this is a part reason why the big boys will always be able to undercut you on price,

but,

your selling point is,

quality,.

the big boys are paying their employees peanuts, so they dont give 2 flips,

you can go the extra mile,

but its a hard act trying to balance the extra cost Vs quality Vs service sometimes .

its just a pity we cant find the happy medium,

( although I have heard Derek Acora is in good spirits recently   :slap   )

i dont twist solid core's

i dont fold them over unless i have to (a single 1mm cable i do )

I have seen a doubled over cable with the doubled bit tight in the terminal, snapped on the hair pin bend so the important bit is loose.

for this reason i dont double over unless i think it needs it.

I use ferrules if i can on flex but i have found on the odd thing its not possible (2-3 flex's going into one terminal)

Ooh.

Good discussion.

I won`t generally double over, unless it seems / is necessary to gain an acceptable connection on the termination - you can tell if it isn`t right!

Ferrules on most stranded, dependent on specifics of cable size and termination type; but not generally on solid cores.

Earths stay separate. End of discussion.

Some carp MCBs with two or three conductors in ; possibly of differing sizes.......now THEY can be a pita.

Have I missed owt?

Dohhhh

Job today,, found a twisted and single sleeved CPC :shakehead
which then disappear behined the cu lost forever.

I double over if needed, no twisting and cpc get separate sleaved

flex on its own does not terminate well enough in screw down terminals
