Ooh - now that`s "thinking outside the box" for you ;) Logic control is used in some situations - but iirc not for e-stop, due to the implications of circuit failure.

Now IIRC in the case of an AND gate, it requires two inputs to open, now if we have a power failure the power is lost and the gait closed. Closed gate = contactor in override drops out and power broken until reset? I may have remembered it all wrong. I always assumed this was how a NVR worked.
