I drove up from Heathrow this morning to Trowbridge, then finally up the M5 back up north, the rain and wind was terrible. Its blowing a gale just now and there are some very large trees near my house that I constantly watch in high winds.

rained a bit here most of the day, but nothing too heavy. starting to get a bit windy but not much

looks like the bad weather has missed the north east again

Wind here in south wales has dropped a lot in the last few hours. At 2 or 3 this afternoon there were some terrible prolonged gusts. I have known worse, mind you, but still awful. The worst wind here is always at night, say about 2, 3, 4, in the morning, absolutely frightening sometimes. Had a lot of houses here struck by lightning over the years. One across the road had a whole corner of the upstairs blown off while the occupant was in that bedroom. They just said there was a big bang and all bricks dropped round them and they could see the sky!!!!

john....

I measured 70kph in central London earlier today (pc linked anemometer I put on the building is at 98m above sea level). Forecast was for just over the 100kph mark at circa 3pm today. Have left it logging so will  have a look tomorrow what it got up today.

Most I've seen there is 98kph & I've been secretly wanting to see it hit 3 figures!

Shouldn't have had beans to eat then morning, noon and night then

us geordies are making the most of it though, everyone is getting the washing out on the line to dry in the wind

Its been wet and windy all day apart from a couple of hours.

It is extremely windy this evening if I suddenly go offline its because our Christmas tree has fallen on my office.
