Just been out to look at a job,,, a few little bits and pieces to do...

But the main reason for this post is because the guy has recently had his CU replaced by a local wannabe:_| I've ot looked inside te CU yet but I have looked at the EIC

under the work covered by this certificate he has put "entire house",,, FFS all he has done is replace a CU, make a bedroom into a kitchen and the old kitchen into a bedroom!

Under PFC he's put 1502!!!! now that's a KA box,,, I think he's missed a decimal point tere somewhere??

Lighting circuits are wired in (1.0 / 0.75) and (1.0 / 0.25)

cooker circuit in (6.0 / 4.0)

Ring continuity 1.2 / 1.2 / 1.2,,,, what! And theres nothing wrong with that

I'm sure there's more,, his cert is just shocking, god knows what his work is like

Go on you know you want to ......post the pictures man post the pictures.

Not got any pictures yet,,,, got to price the job first

I did point some of the certificate errors out though!

I suppose the unsual cpc size is part of a t&e cable? to match the ring continuity no doubt!!

lets hope he is not the same idiot that fitted a 16th edition board on a TT install I looked at a while back he left certs but didn't worry to much the loop was 30 ohms on unprotected circuits.

I doubt it'll be the same bloke,,, unless he's willing to travel 250ish miles for a job!!

IIRC I have seen one of his jobs before,,, he put down RCD results on an EIC for a non RCD protected board!!!!!!!!!

perhaps he could see the future and new the 17th was coming in.

I know i'm an idiot specs but it was a 16th edition board had only one RCD and no Rcd protection on lighting and aga circuit.

Had a job on Monday from a landlord; arrived on-site and took the lid off the CU, the tenant had been into the CU at some point and had taken the two screws that hold the DIN rail in place and then had managed to lose them. He looked quite embarrassed... ?:| . He said he was trying to "rewire the MCB"

Yes I must admit, I hate the term 17th edition board. Let's face it, means nothing to the client.

Just the other day I worked on a consumer unit that was installed in the 80's with BS 3871 MCB's in it. It had a main isolator and 1 x 30mA RCD covering two ways and another 30mA RCD covering the remaining ways.

It was an MEM

Way ahead of it's time eh?
