I am totally amazed that the government are stopping the use of 100 watt bulb, best all round light you can get for the average room,

But you can fit as many GU10 50 watt bulbs as you want, so say 8 x 50 = 400 watts in a room,

Mental when you think that we are phasing out the good old standard 100 watter !!!

Time to rant !!

They are allowed to be sold if they are stock items, but they are not allowed to be manufactured....

I was called out to a house about a month ago where the RCD was tripping and found it to ba a faulty light fitting... the fitting had a 200w GLS in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What bugs me is a lot of pir lights are designed for gls lamps as low energy will ruin them. I suppose you could use the halogen equivelent but at about 3 or 4 pound each it works out expensive. I have said before I am convinced a lot of this is to get more money out of people in tax. I did here that standard T8 tubes are being done away with what next?

I'm old enought to remember 500W & 1,000w GLS lamps.

Yes standard fluoro tubes are out now, thats the standard White, all repaced with Triphosphor , more lumens, last longer, cost more.

I've done some lamp changes with Triphosphor, big difference in output TBH, caused a rebellion in a reception area with them saying it was now too bright !!!

Blimey even I'm not that old !!! ; ) ;)
:C

Brian says he is disgusted with you telling them porky pies mr Deke!!!!

He told us all, three nights ago down the pub, (just when you popped out the the gents cuz Apache spilled his pint over your leg), that you are old enough to remember Gas Lanterns, and how you started your apprenticeship going round the streets of Digbeth putting the lights on in the winter nights.......

Or was that Badger talking about someone Andy knew????

dunno?? :( :p :| :Blushing ]:)

did I miss a dose of Medication over the Easter break???

Where do they get all them extra Lumen's from??

I was told they catch them in boxes....

then transport them to the light manufactures!!!

I think Local councils have been given a Lumen incentive bonus...

cuz they have been cutting down loadsa tree's from the parks round by us...

Lets more light though...

so they can catch more Lumen's in the boxes!? :p :innocent

but they have to watch out

cuz if you put too many lumens in one bulb.......

You CANT turn it off!!!!! ; \ :|

BRIAN TOLD ME THAT AS WELL..

SO IT MUST BE TRUE! :C :C
