I always fear that local councils become empire builders , having this great inflood of cash pouring in every year , some of it from people struggling to make those payments .
One example from my area some, must be 25 yrs ago . Labour council decided they needed to have one of their great annual meetings in ....wait for it !..... Hawaii . !!! costing thousands upon thousands . If I remember correctly public opinion forced it to be cancelled .
But you think ....how dare they even consider such an idea on the premise of all these trade deals that Birmingham has with Hawaii ...yeah we buy all our surf boards from Hawaii !!! :C Place is full of Brummies surfing up & down the canals wearing those mad colourful shirts .
