Tri rated cable

Can I just ask why it has to be tri rated cable?IIRC from my industrial machinery days, tri rated just means it complies with several different international standards, so you can use the same cable in your control panels and sell them wordwide without modification.

This is clearly a one off application, so as I understand it, it does NOT need to be tri rated, it just needs to comply with the standards of the country it's being used in.
I just need a flexible cable and thought that tri rated would suit better given the size that is needed,,, all ends will be lugged BTW ;)

 
Tri also has a higher temp rating than say 6491x.

Yep I did a post on friday night on my iPhone and would have posted some pics in the photo part of the forum over the weekend but my kids have lost my brand spanking new iPad2 so i wasnt best pleased all weekend

And before any wise forumite chirps up - you can do a find my iPhone with apple - YES i would if i had set it up !!! But it hadnt been out of the box for long !!!!
