I've tried a million ways to no avail so how would I create a shortcut icon on my Desktop to take me straight to Youtube.?

I managed it for this Forum and some other stuff but can't seem to do it for Youtube.

Edit : In fact how do I do it for Amazon, Abe Books, Genes Reunited etc etc ??

Yeah yeah I know I'm a plank but my cousin,s gone to live on a Greek island now and I have no one to ask .

Where did everyone go ??? Did someone phart?? :C

Minimise the YouTube window so u can see the desktop behind it. Highlight the YouTube address i.e. www.youtube........... Left click on the highlighted address and drag to the desktop.......then let go!

(Guessing! I use Chrome!)

You could just open YouTube then right click in window and "save as" then select desktop.I'm sure there is a proper way but this will do to start with.
I tried that M8 but it doesn't open properly , takes you there but the site doesn't work.

Try right clicking on desktop and select create "New Shortcut" then type YouTube web address and click next.

Known Vista Issue that M$ haven't address from my googling....New Shortcut Fix - Vista Forums
Last time I did anything like this I had major problems getting everthing back how it was , and picked up something on the way which seemed to take over everything I did , so many thanks for everyones kind assistance but if I frup up I don't have the skills to get it all back again . I'll carry on typing in Youtube.

I've just downloaded Firefox and this seems to work, I'm running Windows 7 BTW:

- Open Firefox as your browser

- Open YouTube & get the page you want up and minimise so Desktop is visible

- Highlight the address, right click and copy

- With cursor over the Desktop, right click, New, Shortcut (for some reason you can't Paste)

- In "Type the location....." box, paste the YouTube address

- Click Next

- In "Type a name for this shortcut" again past the same Youtube address

- Click Finish

- It'll come up with a box suggesting a problem, just click OK

- Click Finish

- YouTube Shortcut appears on Desktop

- Clicking this on my Desktop opens YouTube in my Chrome browser as thats the default, should take YOU to Firefox

Took longer to write than it does to do! A bit convoluted but it works.

ONOFF I'll give it a go , back shortly.

No problems at all. It was bugging the life out of me TBH! (Found the same issue with IE today on a new Win 7 machine BTW - same fix applies). I've got to ask, what is this "scoobing" thing? People keep saying they've "scoobed" me but what does it mean? The only Scooby Doo I know is what my 5 year old watches!
