If I have exceeded allotted space for attachments how do I REMOVE THEM?

sorry I must be thick or something because i cannot work these stuped forums. I just want to post a pic but it wont let me. looking in help dosnt tell me the basics I have a content space but no button to add content!!!!! i have exceeded my attachment disc space appartently but how do you remo=ve it im gonna give up im too tired and pissed off.....
