with the programer fitted and turned to off (power on), try moving the valve manually for CH, depending how its been wired that may trigger the boiler to start and give heating only. no idea which valve it is though, follow the pipes from the water tank to its valve and itll be the other one. however be aware that if it does, itll also bypass the room thermostat
