hi peeps, i need a bit of help with a ups problem. i was changing a terminal lead so i put the ups into maintanance and disconnected the fuses to the tray of batterys i was working on. after completion of my work, with the ups still in maintanace possition i re connected the fuse link for that tray of batterys. it went pop!!!!! i cannot understand why as with it in maintanance it would not be under load would it? if anybody has an in depth knowledge of ups systems can you please shed a bit of light on this please? thanksX(

Are the batteries OK, I am thinking that if the batteries were old and knacked when you put it from bypass to normal there was maybe an inrush of current as the batteries may no longer be holding their charge and so demand a large charging current.

How long did you have it in bypass for?

Thanks m107 and roys

they were new batterys (a hole vnew system by powernetics) it was on bypass only for 30 mins. The fuse link blew before i even put it back into service?
