Might interest some as its a little different from the run of the mill electrical work.

This is the refurbishment of a mobile control unit (the worktop & bodybuilding done by others) we will be doing................new/ 900 server rack / blade servers /  pc's / network / wlan / cofdm kit / sat link / sky / tetra radio / uhf radio / elv & lv via ups + genset + shore  line / aero hive mesh / smart screens / laptop docks / cctv + audio / sat phones / cellular phones / helitelly or drone up link /  lots of other stuff (I must add there is nothing covered by official secrets on this wagon).......

I will do pictures as the job goes along, but here are today's offerings.

The new rack (fitted by others) all the cabling (black) is mainly urm67 RF coax with a bit of cat5e that is to be upgraded to shielded cat6. Cable & JB (from old install) to the right are for sockets.

Sockets  & cat6 outlets going in, circuits are radials & each pc position being supplied by a different ups (four ups unit in total) with two extra sockets not on a ups circuit.

More to follow.......................I'm on this for the next month.

Or an old Landrover :innocent

What vehicle is that on? something pretty big, an artic perhaps?  Can we have a photo of the vehicle please?

Nice clean work looks very good M107

Very similar to what i used to do with the MOD on containers for the RAF,ARMY and NAVY.

We used to have to use stainless steel cable ties for any cables on  tray.

But of course Andy, along with a multitude of other sat channels.................the sky dish is a horizontal motorized self acquiring dish, mounted in a recess on the roof.

The upright dish is for our ERSN (Enhanced Resilience Satellite Network) for internet/real time video transfer/real time voice & data, between sites and/or vehicles.

Always wondered with these types of vehicles, what about a earthing system?

Don't let Del Boy or Boyce anywhere near it then :p they will either find aliens (not including Trig) crash a plane, or find some nefarious TV channel from Miss Swedens homeland :innocent ]:)

Oiiii :) M107 isn't far away from me and if that thing can find a channel that shows Björnes Magasin I'll be hunting it down :D :p

As said its a TNS via on board  Fischer Panda marine genset, And like the MOD when we set up with the genset running an earth rod is also driven in.............or connected to armco barrier/street light/local drain.

When connected to the shore line the genset can not be started  & the supplying shore line earthing system is used.
