Volt Sticks & Neon Screwdrivers

Is my memory playing tricks on me or did someone (AndyTM I think) do an experiment with volt sticks and applying them to live cables when held and when suspended from an insulator?

If so, does anyone remember where or when, I have tried to find the thread & failed dismally, anyone help?

it was a fluke T-140 i hung from a live wire

I could not find it because I suspect I was searching for things to do with volt sticks & neons rather than a 2 pole indicator such as the T-140!

Neon will NOT indicate voltage if you are standing on any sort of reasonable insulator,

Bitter experience :|

Dont volt sticks work on EM though? so it shouldnt matter them,

But, volt sticks will indicate voltage even if its only static by rubbing on your trousers.....
