Just wondered if anyone had a.....

SQ'D QO 80A 30mA RCD main switch (You know the brown ones!!!)

knocking around??BlushingBlushing

Got a customer where theirs has failed and they do not have the money to pay to change the board.. :_|

If you have one let me know what you want for it, and maybe we can do a deal??Guiness Drink

Managed to get hold of one of these a week ago.... replaced it and all ok.

Then I got a phone call a few days ago "...when I plug my PC in the RCD trips..." so I went there this morning and found that the socket was wired N-E reversed:_|

This socket was fitted 20 odd years ago:O:O

ouch! :O:O

I was asked to quote to turn a 15A radial into a 30A ring in the kitchen...

It was supplying the c/h, washing machine, kettle and toaster. Easy enough job, swap the MCB's from the cooker circuit and this circuit and rewire into a ring.. they couldn't have the kettle and washing machine on at the same time!!

BTW. Gas cooker, electric for clock and ignition only!

Like they said, that socket (spur) had been in for at least 20 years; but had been used infrequently until they got a PC about 5 years ago:O:O It had never been used for anything else.

Just goes to show what the test button is for!!
