If you ask for twin/earth in the Midlands it will generally have a grey sheath , I'm told that darn sarf its always supplied in white , with grey unheard of , is this the case and what colour is it in your area ?

I read somewhere, sinced new colours all white sheath is LSF, and grey is PVC, old colours you could have white or grey sheath.

Bloke who wired my house many moons ago used grey for loop and white for switch drops.

But I'm up North from you.

It's grey here unless you want LSF then it's white.... & I'm south but a little north of Canoeboy

Well Slippers, because I havn't installed any LSF twin/E ...ever.... (only 6491B in conduit ) and never bothered with white sheath either , I was unaware of a change in sheath colours to indicate LSF. Must be confusing with PVC when in situ.

I suppose down south where it was always white pvc we noticed it, up north there was no difference. I remember about 15 years ago phoning around trying to get some grey Tw&e and in the end CEF had some brought down from a northern branch for me.

Ah Kerching , this new PeeVeeCee is OK , you can plaster it with tallow fat and get loads of 'em in 20mm conduit, the tallow does'nt affect the rubber like it did with the VIR .

AND......... you'll like this one ...... you can get earth wire thats covered in green/yell insulation instead of being bare and shorting everything out.

Do you still want to buy this pack of 50 Wylex brown 6way Consumer units , the ones mounted on the hardwood frames with no back ?

Also got some ELCBs if you're interested , brand new , had 'em for years .

They would go nicely with my Wylex 13A sockets....the ones with a 'fuse' as the live pin, and my switched lampholder adapters.

I have a BRAND NEW MK 15A cooker unit with socket, on-board fuse and backbox, sorry but it is Ivory and not white and is missing its cardboard packaging. Will it comply with BGB?!?!?............. :coat

Doubt it!! Ivory Eh! I'd have bought it if it were brown !

I also have some useful tools for sale :-

Rawlplug Tool c/w No.8 Jumper bits .

Set of 3/4" BSC thread stocks & dies .

3" X 2" wooden bending blocks .

Wooden Rawlplugs

Slotted screws

Packs of tallow

Wooden conduit, thread wrapped conductors- those were the days (I do a fair bit of refurb of old properties).
