it is  a genuine problem, social media has allowed every nutter that used to stand and shout at people on the street corner to directly harass MPs and anybody else in public office - I would not consider going into public office as oddly enough I don't like getting death threats every day, nor death threats against friends and family. So looking forward, what sort of people are going to even step forward for public office?
