To be sure you could could take earth connection out of henley block that way you will know what ze is like taken from sheath.
I wouldn;t. It's a DNO connection so shouldn;t be dismantled. It's connected and if that is used as the earth path then it should be tested as is.

I would be interested to find out why it was done though and if you are going to do work on the property you will need to provide suitable earth and not use water pipe as it probably is at the moment. As said I am in edf area for a lot of my work and they are a nightmare to get out so generally I sort problems out myself or a mate I know sorts things out.

Hi there,

I have come across this setup a lot! (Maybe its just a Midlands thing?)

50% have had PME labels/stickers, the others haven't.

When I've checked in the past I have been told they are TNCS.

But always check (by enquiry and/or measurement) if unsure.

Well interestingly enough the customer rang me tonight to accept my quote and after I told her to get in touch with her supplier to get their side sorted out she got back to me with the answer that they want me to do the work and will send me the seals ... i'm to ring them tomorrow ... and shall update this hopefully with some sort of answer ...

Definitive answer ... TNS converted to TNCS due to high Ze in the past ... no remedial work required ... attach new MEC to the existing block and treat as TNCS for Ze ..

Yes, the DNO have it as TNCS ... spoke to the tech chaps at Elecsa too, they concurred with it all ... as long as the installation is sound which it is and the results are within the TNCS range then no problem ...
