The low loop tests can be quite predictable Batty as I believe the meter calculates the readings somehow based on a 230 or 240 volt supply! Not quite sure how this works but many years ago I remember speaking with AVO Tech department and getting this as an answer along with some other waffle as the readings always seemed to be around the 0.2Ω on the 15mA test no matter where I was testing!
Yes I had that on an install every reading was .4ohms which seemed strange to me. I stopped using it after this. It went back to megger and they said there was nothing wrong with it so have not used it. My Fluke was playing up so I used it a few times but was still worried about low current loop tests so was advised by somebody at megger to send it to a local recommended company to get it looked at. They had it for six months said they thought they had found what was wrong with it charged me over

 
thanks for your help,it can be a bit daunting due to the range avalible,and its an expensive purchase,especially if your not on great money,so making the right choice is important for me.
