not wrong. BS1361 and 88 cutout fuses are the same physical size (of same type). you can safely use a 40A in a 60A cutout (like if the network is only designed for 40A). it may even have an 80A in depending on what fuse rating they had at the time.
Try going into the real world and you will soon find out.
