Been asked by neighbour to fit new CU and shower,I'm not with any scam so would you decline the explaing why or do the job.

Give them the options:

Inform LABC and get them to pay the (extortionate) fee, all legit,

Get a scam member in.

Do it, no paperwork,

Have you checked with your LABC what their charges are? What part of the country are you Bacon? could one of our members visit you on the CU changeover day and offer some assistance on the notify LABC aspect?

Doc H.

Tell them you can't supply a cert but other than that it will be done correctly, its up to them . Then just do it , at the end of the day who gives a $hite , before this Part Pee crap you'd have just done it .

And don't forget there,s thousands of jobs being done every day in the same way.

Bloody stupid carp we have to put up with these days , gets right up my hooter!!

Even if don't inform building control, you could still give them a proper certificate.

Thats true , you ought to test and certify anyway. Lets face it , you are improving the installation .

Also true that myself and the Badger are not far away.

The main things are to check the Ze , is bonding in place .

Any probs with individual circuits I'm sure you could sort out.

I can only advise that you follow the correct procedures, and notify before any work begins. If, any electrician in your area is prepared to work with you for a small fee, (cheaper than the notification process), all the better.

Some scheme providers are doing cold calls on electricians who advertise, and some times catch out those who are willing to do work they are not registered for.

Just my input, but seriously worth thinking about.

I know others have said just go ahead and do it and not bother notify,,, but you have to make the decision on how you want to take your electrical work forward,, do you want to do things the right way or the wrong way?

A lot of us guys, Deke included, pay a lot of money each year to be registered with a scheme so that we can do this kind of work without having to go through the LABC...

We know that part P is not perfect, but in all honesty it is here to stay, so if you do enough domestic work I'd recommend that you use this as an opportunity to get registered.

Noz if i've done 2 jobs in over 3 years for friends and family thats about it so paying for scheme not worth it for me personaly,

company i work for just do indust and comercial work.
