On your home made one how does the alarm trigger the phone & how is a message sent ?
You pull the phone apart until you reach the keypad contacts, how you do this obviously varies from phone to phone. you then solder 2 wires to the contacts of one key, connect the wires to the normally open side of the relay, use the pos and neg from your alarm panels bell trigger to activate the relay, assign your own number to the speed dial of the key your wires are connected to. In your own phone asign an alarm tone to the number of the sim card in your alarms phone and voila.

I boosted the signal in my alarm phone by pulling out the antenna and wiring 2 long wires to the antenna contacts.

i wouldnt expect you to need to do anything - speed dial usually calls the number from the main screen once number is held (via relay in this case), then once call is ended, phone goes back to main screen. ready for the next time its needed

Yeah it just dials straight from the home screen, you need to deactivate any auto keypad lock that may be on it to prevent the keypad locking and block the carrier from sending you text messages as say you went out and got a text in the morning the phone wouldn't be able to speed dial for the rest of the day.

There are pitfalls to the DIY system that proper gsm auto diallers prevent but that's why mine cost a fiver and you pay in the region of £250 for a proper gsm auto dialler.

On the whole though I've never had any problems with mine but I've never had any false or real alarm activations. I test it regularly though and it works every time.

Not seen the one in the link before. Only familiar with the gjd ones, the older gjd ones now appear to £180, these used to be £250 but they've brought out the newer model which is now at around £200.

hi slips just seen your question i think your referring to the g2-20 which has built in phone line dialler, this is something i dont use tbh, i always instll a seperate one external somewhere its just my way. as for the setting up of the dialler / disabling of it, i will email you a copy of the instructions if you pm me your email addy, if you need them.

Found this on page 109 !!

Telephone Line Set-Up

The control panel has an on-board modem. This allows remote servicing of the control panel without the need

for a separate comms module.

Alternatively, the GSM Module can be used for remote servicing when a land line is not available.
