This might seem obvious , but thats why im in student and learning zone

How do you determine what size fused isolating switch to connect between c/u and meter? my main switch in c/u is 63A , suppliers fuse unknown !

cheers in advance

Rob

Hi Rob

First why do you need a Fused isolator between Meter and CU?

If they are within 3mtrs of each other then the Suppliers fuse is protecting the Tails.

If you are installing a Sub main distribution circuit to supply the CU as it is more then 3 mtrs away then the size of Fuse would depend on what your load is and the Cable size between the two.

I may have worded it wrong! what im thinking of is a switch between c/u and meter , not sure if its a fused switch so that work on c/u for example can be done in the future without relying on DNO to remove their fuse

Many thanks

Rob,

You can also get 80A ones just for confusion!

You would need to select one comparable with your diversified load.

You could select either 63, 80 or 100 depending on your install.

Bigger is better if the mone is there etc.
