In the office again.
Just had an email, supposedly from these people, looking for sub-contractors.

The postal address on the email matches the one on the website ( VEDHAS )

The email doesn`t look professional, though - it reads like a phisher......They`ve included a sub-contractor form, to fill in & return. Doesn`t ask for bank details or the like, but again, looks like something quickly thrown together. Website looks good, but I`ve never heard of `em - anybody? :C :C

KME,

You beat me to posting it, check vedhas.co.uk & mylocalelectricians.com

I had the same email & searched on the domain name of the sender.

The site spelling and info is not that much better.

They claim that it is a legal requirement that rented properties are I&T'd very 5 yrs & / or on change of tennant for one.

I wish!!!

Sounds like a mass marketing gimic. I had the same e-mail this afternoon. Looks like a scheme where they charge the customer a fortune and pay you a pittance and pocket the rest themselves.

Kerching,

I was thinking about a bit of baiting but sending them my T's & C's etc. and a credit account form for them to sign and return along with MY rates not theirs!

We'll see how yours goes first I think.

Yep..

I got that e-mail to.... :|

when I saw the pay rates they are talking about.. I nearly fell out of me trailer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FFS I was earning more than that 15 years ago before the old company hit the redundancy button!!!!!!!!!!!

:_|

AND..

my own pay rates have been more than what they are asking for... ever since I started up on my own 13+ years ago!!

Stuff that I thought... :)

It did say something about they did an NICEIC search..

Probably got some contract for some council work..

now the councils are cutting their own costs..

but need NICy contractors to meet council spec!

have any NONE NIC members received this e-mail?

:C

Nope they did scan the nic website and looks like only niceic members are being targetted. Apparently verdas or whatever they are called are niceic registered as domestic installers and are based in Luton. No offense to anyone from Luton but when I worked in insurance about 10 years ago doing traders policies. The police were always on the phone about dodgies going on in Luton. Think it may be the foreign part which is a no go for us lot? There's info on this email on few other forums and general outcome is avoid them lol
